vacancy

Operations Intern

About the role

At headfirst we make helmets people actually want to wear. Designing them is one part of the job. Getting the right helmet to the right head on time is the other. That's where you come in.

We're growing across Europe and every new rider brings a new order, a new question or sometimes a return. You keep all of it running smoothly. From the moment a helmet arrives at our warehouse to the moment a rider leaves a review, you're on it.

What you'll be doing

  • Customer support: answering questions about orders, sizing, shipping and our tech. Quick, clear and in our tone of voice.
  • Customer satisfaction: keeping track of how happy our riders are, following up on reviews and turning a bad experience into a good one.
  • Feedback loop: collecting insights from support and reviews and sharing them with the team. If ten people ask the same question, we'd rather fix the cause than answer it ten times.
  • Incoming helmets: receiving and checking new stock, keeping inventory up to date and making sure our numbers match what's on the shelf.
  • Orders & shipping: keeping an eye on orders and deliveries and stepping in when a parcel takes the scenic route.
  • Returns & exchanges: handling returns, size swaps and refunds from start to finish.
  • Crash replacement: helping riders through our crash replacement programme. Their helmet did its job. Now it's our turn.
  • Partners & logistics: staying in touch with our suppliers and logistics partners so everything keeps moving.
  • Processes: spotting what's slow or clunky and building a better way. Templates, FAQs, checklists, whatever works.

In short: you make sure the experience after someone clicks "buy" is as good as the helmet. Nobody writes a five-star review about a smooth return. Until you handle one.

What we're looking for

  • You're studying business, logistics, commerce or something similar
  • You're available for at least 5 months
  • You love structure, a good spreadsheet and the feeling of an empty inbox
  • You stay friendly and helpful, even when a customer isn't (yet)
  • You write clearly and quickly in Dutch and English
  • You solve problems before you complain about them (if you complain at all)
  • You're curious, self-driven and not afraid to make mistakes (or fix them)
  • Bonus: experience with Shopify, helpdesk software or customer service in general
  • Available 4-5 days a week

What you'll get

  • A look behind the scenes of a hardware startup, from warehouse to customer
  • Real responsibility from day one
  • Insight into supply chain, e-commerce, customer experience and product development
  • Plenty of room to improve how we do things
  • A startup with pace and ambition
